Bernina 830 Record 1971

Image
Since I've got 2 very interesting Bernina Minimatics I thought it would be interesting/educational to try an 830 Record. At the right price: )    I think I've found one. Comes with all the kit. Foot pedal/controller, cables, including the tray, several feet, 7 by the look, etc. in the Accessories Box, printed Manual, as well as original paperwork, flatbed slip on unit in a neat looking case. Seller says it has a 'slight fluctuation in speed when sewing'. Which may be/likely is a cracked plastic cog on the Camstack drive, or an issue with the controller. The cog is an easy fix, £20 for a replacement, as with my 707. I've gone for it anyway at £140 shipped. Should it be a disaster it'll get way more than the price parted. Feet get a minimum of £10 each, controller £50+, plus many other parts: ) I expect to get it working well though & I look forward getting a close look at it shortly. Arrived this morning in good order, no damage this time happily. Had a good

Bernina 707 Minimatic 1970

My second Minimatic arrived today! I was hoping the controller & cabling would also fit my 807, which lacks one. But it doesn't: ) But it is an earlier model, 1970 I think, & didn't look too bad on Ebay. The case looked good too. When I unpacked it the case was open & the machine was loose. Along with the controller & the flatbed plate. One of those days... The machine itself is likely OK, just a few extra marks on the body & more importantly a cracked/damaged motor cover. Has no bobbin case & just a single foot.   All the controls work, motor sounds good, it just needs a good service after a long period of storage. It also needs a replacement case & motor cover This is what arrived earlier. It's made of hard, brittle plastic, unlike the Elnas in their steel ammunition box style cases. Not having a lot of luck with my first Berninas... But this one is meant as a Winter Project now & I'm sure it'll run well after a little TLC. It's

My first Bernina & a bit of a mad one: ) Minimatic 807. From 1974.

Was watching this machine on my favourite VSM Charity site & ended up winning it!! Didn't really mean to win it, but no regrets: ) Looks good to me.     Looks to be in nice condition with a few extras: ) Ebay pics here. Only problem is no foot controller. But at £77 shipped I'm looking forward to delivery: ) There were two bidders competing with each other & I pipped them both at the post. Check the bidding. I like doing that; ) My 2 great neices watching were laughing too: ) I'm weaning them off TV. I'll update this when I get it. Got a chance on another similar item (a Bernina 707) tomorrow with a foot pedal... Watch for updates.  Wednesday 13th Sep. The other machine is here : Same 2 bidders competing again; ) It's a 707 this time, but very similar. I'm hoping to ambush them at the end. Doing it twice would be quite sweet. It's on £26 with 5 hours left as I write. I did win it: ) £49.95 shipped. And I need shipping to my bed here at 11:30pm. 14/0
